Aren’t “Monday” mornings just the WORST?  I mean, nothing to look forward to but a week of WORK or CHORES or SCHOOL or PARENTING or ________.  Ugh, right?  Naturally, I’m kidding … STILL, we joke about it and there’s a kernel of truth to this mentality.  YET, what if you and I chose to combat this thinking as revolutionaries of bliss?  What if we decided to wildly embrace, love, and celebrate our individual and collective lives, and Life itself?  It would be fantastic!  I’m jazzed just thinking about it.  It’s incredible how many amazing people there are to hug, the number of wonderful souls around to share a drink, thoughts, and feelings with, and how much beauty there is in nature.

Author Anne Lamott is with us, as she writes: “I decided that the most subversive, revolutionary thing I could do was show up for my life and not be ashamed.”  There is SO much to celebrate, cherish, and cultivate in life.  It’s a crazy adventure, and even when we walk dark roads, we are surrounded by and filled with so much goodness it blows my mind.  I think of the classic line from the Shawshank Redemption: “Get busy living, or get busy dying.”  Sometimes, I think we all get stuck in a boring groove, we slip into a monotonous rhythm, wherein it’s easy for life to just slip away from us.

So, today I invite each of us to enthusiastically embrace, love, and celebrate YOUR life.  Chose laughter over shame.  Decide to believe the best instead of the worst.  We’re always telling a story in our heads, so make it a good one, one you’d pay to see at the movie theater.  Cultivate positivity, notice lives around you, pay attention to the beauty of the trees, smile at the glory of the sky, practice gratitude, hug lots, smile even more, and above all, SPREAD LOVE.
