Can I tell you a secret? You’re AMAZING! You are a GIFT! A one of a kind MIRACLE, never seen before and never to be seen again. Why do I say that? Do you have a day? Seriously, I have SO many reasons for trusting this, but in the interest of time I’ll name three. First, psychologically speaking it’s vital we start with a YES, a humbly confident love, honoring, and respect of self. You, me, and everyone will experience and give more joy, light, and love when we start from a secure, safe, and positive foundation. Author Brene Brown puts it this way: “When you get to a place where you understand that love and belonging, your worthiness, is a birthright and not something you have to earn, anything is possible.”
Second, I studied to be a pastor, meaning I see the world through a Christian lens. Here, just part of the mind-blowing Good News is YOU ARE PRECIOUS. You have infinite worth. You are made in the image of the Divine. And most importantly, YOU ARE LOVED AND ARE LOVE … PERIOD. NO doing or achieving is required. Nothing you do or don’t do could change you being beloved. Love doesn’t need a reason, it IS the reason. In my mind, this lines up well with my third reason: Namaste. In yoga we greet each other, leave each other, and close our yoga practice by saying, “namaste,” meaning “the Divine in me honors the Divine in you.”
So, wherever you are on your journey, today I invite you to rest in and move a bit more from this truth: YOU BELONG, YOU’RE WORTHY, AND YOU’RE LOVED.
