When it comes to personal growth and transformation, I think these words are essential: SURRENDER, EVERYTHING BELONGS, LOVE IN WHOLES, and JUST BE. Along those lines, Eckhart Tolle says: “Don’t look for peace. Don’t look for any other state than the one you are in now; otherwise you will set up inner conflict and unconscious resistance. Forgive yourself for not being at peace. The moment you completely accept your non-peace, your non-peace becomes transmuted into peace. Anything you accept fully will get you there, will take you into peace. This is the miracle of surrender.”
This makes me think of love. To love someone truly is to love them FULLY. How often do our partners change a behavior that bugs us when we communicate we definitely DON’T love that aspect of their being? Not often, right? YET, when we embrace ALL of them, they’re empowered to freely blossom and grow into evermore amazing partners. Likewise, it seems to me disliking an aspect of ourselves doesn’t result in much beyond frustration or despair, while loving ALL of ourselves AS we are results in all sorts of beautiful transformations.
I don’t know about you, but when I don’t accept what IS, when I choose not to embrace ALL of a person, and I decide not to smile at my WHOLE self, I grind my teeth, I worry, I fret, I grow frustrated, I clench my fists, I’m quick to anger, and life doesn’t feel as wonderful as it actually is. That said, today I invite us to surrender to what IS. Just BE as you are, love ALL of who you and others are, and especially forgive and celebrate the bits that “bug” you. Feel it all, go into it all, and hug every bit of it. Then, without expectation notice what happens … I bet it’ll be AWESOME!
